The ingredients needed to make Chickpeas Vada:
  1. Take chickpeas
  2. Take green chilli
  3. Get grated carrots
  4. Prepare shredded cabbage
  5. Get finely chopped capsicum
  6. Prepare cumin powder
  7. Get garam masala powder
  8. Prepare aamchur powder
  9. Get red chilli powder
  10. Prepare besan
  11. Get rice flour
  12. Make ready mint leaves
  13. Get ginger
  14. Take Salt
  15. Prepare Oil for frying

Sprinkle a little water while grinding. Combine rice flour, corn flour, fennel, garam masala, coriander and curry leaves to the ground mixture. Make small balls and gently flatten them. Heat oil and fry the vadas, a few at a time, till.

Steps to make Chickpeas Vada:
  1. Soak chickpeas overnight and pressure cook it for 8-9 whistle or until they are soft.
  2. Make a coarse paste of the boiled chickpeas with green chilli, ginger and mint leaves, add 2-3 tsp of water if required. Do not add more water.
  3. Now in a mixing bowl, add the coarsely ground chickpeas, add the veggies like carrot, cabbage, capsicum (you can add any other veggies of your choice), add the cumin powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, aamchur powder & salt to taste, add besan and rice flour and mix everything well. Adjust the quantity of besan and rice flour as per the binding. Now apply little oil in your palm, take small portion of the mixture and give them any shape of your desire.
  4. Now heat some oil in a pan and either shallow fry or deep fry them from both the sides and it's done. Serve it hot with your favourite chutney or sauce.

A bite of hot Vada in a rainy day is perfect way to enjoy the time. She said instead of bengal gram use chickpeas and you would get a great tastier vadas.
