There is no general agreement about the right way of spelling dal… I absolutely love the moong dal and this recipe is the only one I've ever cooked with the moong lentils. Moong dal (pasi parupu) is very nutritious, needs less soaking and is easy to digest. I have used the yellow split moong dal for preparing this dosa. Moong dal dosa can be prepared in a jiffy.
Instructions to make Yellow Moong Dal Dosa:
- Wash yellow moong dal and rice trice with water. Soak both in water for 2 hours. At the time of grinding add wash and soak poha.
- In a mixer jar add green chilli, coriander leaves and soaked yellow moong dal, rice,poha. Grind to smooth paste. Add little water to make dosa like consistency batter.
- Pour in bowl,add salt.. Keep aside for 15 mins.
- Heat non-stick dosa tawa, grease with 1 tsp oil. Pour a ladleful of prepared moong dal batter, spread out over tawa. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp oil. Cook for a few minutes, flip over and cook another side till crisp. Similarly prepare all dosas.
- Serve Delicious Yellow Moong Dal Dosa with green coriander chutney, and dates along with hot tea/coffee/ milk to make complete Healthy breakfast.

Moong Dal also know as Split skinned Yellow Gram (Pasi Paruppu) is very rich in nutrition and is good for health.
