- Making Idli batter- Grind the rice,urad dal till you get a smooth & fluffy batter.Add salt & mix well.
- Cover & let the batter ferment for 8 to 9 hours.
- After the fermentation process is over,the idli batter will double in size & rise.
- Steaming idlis- Grease the idli moulds with oil.Pour half a ladleful of the idli batter into each mould.
- Top it with the coconut,jaggery mix.
- Mix little batter with chocolate powder.
- Cover half of the filling with plain idli batter & half with the chocolate idle batter.
- Steam the idlies in a steamer.Steam for 10-12 mints until the idlies are done.
- Serve the steaming hot idlies with coconut chutney.
I checked the web and some varieties of palm jaggery are black in colour. Can't say anything else about the Yummy! Taste has a hint of chocolate! I am happy to eat it straight! Method: Mix the condensed milk, eggs, butter, vanilla essence.
